Copper and Daisy A boy and his sickly but extraordinary cat move next door to a girl and her beloved dog, and together they face life and learn what's important. ► Family Dramedy (Rated PG) ► 100-page feature screenplay ► 4-page synopsis ► $5+ million budget ► © 2011-2023 "Copper and Daisy" is about two kids who really love their pets: Bobby, with his ailing Siamese, Copper, and an extroverted girl, Alexa, with her playful beagle, Daisy. But the strange thing is, Bobby's conversations with his cat Copper, are more than just playful pet talk. Copper can talk back, somehow! When Bobby teaches Alexa how to communicate with her beloved Daisy, the kids and pets form a deep bond. (Note: The story is not technology driven. The animals are written to speak through telepathy, as voice-over, without moving mouths/CGI effects.) A heartbreaking event, and 15 long years, separates the kids from one another. Will their childhood bond be able to bring them together again? Get out your hanky! Young and old and men and women ought to like this one, especially anyone who's ever owned and loved a pet of any kind. But touching on issues that include unemployment, poverty, bullying, and the hard choices parents must make, this story is far more than just "sweet". Major Characters/Casting Possibilities: ► Bobby Tolson, 10 and 25 years (two timelines) ► Alexa Morningstar, 10 and 25 ► Chen, 9 and 24; Shivana, 6 ► Maintenance Man Proctor, 55 ► Voices for Copper the cat, 2 and 17 years; Daisy the dog, 2 years; Crosshatch the raccoon
